For Shirlee, heart disease has meant more than 30 years of ever-changing medications, a pacemaker/defibrillator implant and a leaky heart valve. In 2022, Shirlee’s condition deteriorated so much that she couldn’t walk from the living room to the kitchen counter. She had trouble breathing and she couldn’t work. But a small clip has helped restore her heart’s normal blood flow and though not cured, Shirlee is walking and back at her job.
